Dear Esteemed Members of Our Hospital Family,

Happy New Year! I wish you and your families a year filled with happiness and success.

The past year, 2024, was a time of unprecedented challenges for the medical community. Despite these
difficulties, the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) group, encompassing the main hospital, SNUH
Bundang, SMG-SNU Boramae Medical Center, SNUH Healthcare System Gangnam Center, the National Traffic
Injury Rehabilitation Hospital, and Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (UAE), achieved remarkable innovation and growth.

At our main hospital, SNUH was designated as the first Research Institute Specialized in National Strategic
Technology, in Boston, we unveiled the NSTRI data platform, laying the groundwork for the global expansion of
Korea's bioindustry. In the UAE, we secured a third consecutive contract renewal with SKSH, while SNUH
Bundang undertook consulting projects for hospital construction in Uzbekistan and Los Angeles.
SNUH Healthcare System Gangnam Center successfully collaborated with Vinmec Healthcare in Vietnam.

Domestically, SMG-SNU Boramae Medical Center and the National Traffic Injury Rehabilitation Hospital renewed
their contracts, further strengthening our medical capabilities.

These achievements were made possible by your unwavering dedication and collaboration, even during the
most challenging times. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you for your respect and support for one
another.

Dear Respected Staff Members,

SNUH stands as Korea’s oldest and most prestigious educational hospital, dedicated to training the best medical professionals. In 2025, we will continue to uphold our values across five key areas: Education, Research,
Clinical Practice, Public Health, and Organizational Culture, ensuring sustainable development.

1. Education:
Our top priority is to strengthen the hospital’s mission as an educational institution that nurtures the finest
medical professionals. This includes diversifying the roles of clinical support staff, securing fellows,
and improving the training environment for residents.

2. Research:
To establish ourselves as a world-class research-driven hospital, we will solidify our global research network,
focus on key research areas through independent institutes, and launch a Healthcare AI Research Center.
These initiatives will contribute to groundbreaking research outcomes and support the development of
Korea’s digital bio-health industry.

3. Clinical Practice:
Marking the 40th anniversary of the Children’s Hospital, we will commence its remodeling, starting with
the construction of a temporary ward in the Pediatric Annex. By enhancing infection control and patient safety
with rooms accommodating four or fewer patients, we aim to build a future-oriented children's hospital.
Additionally, with the completion of expanded and remodeled operating rooms, including robot-dedicated
and hybrid operating rooms, we will create a cutting-edge treatment environment.

4. Public Health:
As a national public hospital, SNUH will solidify its identity by strengthening regional essential medical services
as a Regional Responsible Medical Institution. We will enhance our role as the final treatment provider for critical
cases and as a control tower for essential medical services. Furthermore, we will bolster public healthcare policy
functions to improve universal access to medical services.

5. Organizational Culture:
We will foster a culture of mutual respect and understanding, encouraging open communication and
collaboration among staff. Few organizations integrate as many diverse roles as hospitals do. By uniting as
one team with a shared goal of treating patients, we aim to elevate our collective value and create a hospital
where everyone grows and thrives together.

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

The year 2025 marks the 140th anniversary of our founding as Jejungwon, Korea's first national hospital.
Additionally, the Children’s Hospital will celebrate its 40th anniversary as Korea’s first specialized
children’s hospital.

Internationally, we will continue to lead Korea’s medical wave, having established a stronghold in the Middle East over the past decade. This year, we will advance a project to establish and operate a 250-bed general hospital in
Abu Dhabi. Domestically, we will accelerate the opening of the SNUH Baegot, the SNUH Heavy Ion Therapy Gijang Center and the National Fire Hospital.

Since 1885, the SNUH group has carried forth the mission bestowed upon Jejungwon. As we embark on this new year, I hope that all staff across our hospitals will unite under our renewed mission and vision to realize our core
values and forge ahead together.

Thank you once again for embracing change and actively participating in the evolution of our hospital group.
May this year bring boundless joy and prosperity to you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,
Young Tae Kim
President
Seoul National University Hospital
