SNUH declares ‘Group Mission/Vision’
-‘One SNUH Network- Pioneering Future Healthcare for All

Seoul National University Hospital celebrated its 45th anniversary. Since declaring its aim of 'Promoting Korean Healthcare to the Globe' in 2006, Seoul National University Hospital has led the worldwide standard of Korean healthcare via constant transformation and innovation. The Seoul National University Hospital network have joined together as the 'Seoul National University Hospital Group', establishing a common mission and vision to share for the first time and pioneering future healthcare.

On October 13th, Seoul National University Hospital held the Seoul National University Hospital Group Mission and Vision Declaration Ceremony at the Children's Hospital CJ Hall. This day's event celebrated the 138th anniversary of Jejungwon and the 45th anniversary of its incorporation. Around 250 hospital group faculty and staff attended, including Seoul National University Hospital Chairman Ryu Hong Lim (Seoul National University President), Seoul National University Hospital President Kim Young Tae, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital President Song Junghan, Seoul Boramae Hospital Director Lee Jae Hyup, Gangnam Center Director Cho Jeong Yeon, and Shin Hyeongik, Vice Director of National Transportation Rehabilitation Hospital.
Seoul National University Hospital, which has continued to make excellent quantitative and qualitative development, is the first to announce the 'Seoul National University Hospital Group Mission/Vision' to meet the expectations of the nation and the public and to lead future healthcare by combining all hospitals in the group to create synergy.

The mission is to ‘enable humanity to enjoy a healthy and happy life through the world’s best education, research, and clinical practice.’ It was founded in accordance with Article 1 (Purpose) of the Seoul National University Hospital Establishment Act.
The vision is 'One SNUH Network - Pioneering the Future of Healthcare for All', which contains the Seoul National University Hospital Group's firm determination to lead the highest level of future healthcare amid rapid changes in the medical environment.
‘One SNUH Network’ represents that the Seoul National University Hospital Group, the best national university hospital, maximizes synergy through various forms of cooperation.
'Pioneering the Future of Healthcare for All’ expresses a desire to move beyond innovation, actively respond to changing environments (humans, time, and space), and pioneer new fields to lead future healthcare.
It is divided into education, research, clinical practice, public health care, and organizational culture areas under the aforementioned vision, and ▲a standard of future healthcare (Excellence) ▲campus of global leaders (Leader) ▲hub of cutting-edge research (Innovator) ▲hope for national healthcare (Advocate) ▲workplace where dreams come true (Motivator) was established with vision and keywords for each area. Based on this, six core values were set: △Aim for the best. △Patient-centered △talent development △Pursuing innovation △Social involvement △Mutual respect.
Moreover, the group’s slogan is ‘Beyond Excellence.’ It contains the Seoul National University Hospital Group's desire to move beyond excellence to greatness by combining synergy between hospitals and the strength of all employees.
This mission, vision, core values, and slogan are very meaningful as they were completed together with the active participation and opinion collection of all employees of the group, including faculty and staff slogan contests, preference voting, and preliminary surveys on vision and core values after the inauguration of hospital director Kim Young Tae in March.
Seoul National University Hospital Director Kim Young Tae said, “Establishing the group’s mission and vision is the beginning of a new leap forward, and as we move into the future together, our possibilities and potential will be maximized. In the future, Seoul National University Hospital Group, as a national central hospital, will take responsibility for people's healthcare and aim to lead national policy cooperation and treatment of serious, rare and incurable diseases. Furthermore, as the world’s best research-oriented hospital, we will pioneer future healthcare based on focusing cutting-edge research and development.”
On this day, the Seoul National University Hospital Group held an ‘ESG Management Declaration Ceremony’ to establish an autonomous and responsible management system and promote sustainable development and declared that it would practice ESG management in earnest. The contents of the declaration are as follows: △Recognize that ESG management is a core value for the hospital's sustainable growth, and promote work by reflecting ESG values in all management activities △Minimize medical waste and greenhouse gas generation and produce eco-friendly products △As a national hospital responsible for Korea's medical care, we take the lead in strengthening public medical care and contributing to society so that all citizens can enjoy healthy and happy lives. △Based on a transparent and fair organizational culture, Seoul National University Hospital strives to build a trustworthy management system at the group level.
