Introduction to the Center

Since the Drug Safety Center opened in 2009, experts in various professional fields including physicians, clinical pharmacologists, pharmacists, and nurses in our center have been monitoring adverse drug reactions to help patients use drugs more safely. Our center also plays the role of a Regional Pharmacovigilance Center under the jurisdiction of the Korea Institute of Drug Safety & Risk Management through drug monitoring, public relations, education, advice, and counseling in the northeast part of Seoul (Jongno-gu, Jung-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Dobong-gu, and Nowon-gu).

 

Major Tasks of Drug Safety Center 

- Investigation, management, and reporting of adverse drug reactions in and out of the hospital 

- Issuance of drug safety cards to prevent the recurrence of adverse drug reactions

- Quick response counseling on follow-up measures for adverse drug reactions

- Consultation on adverse drug reactions (for patients and their guardians) 

- Advice on adverse drug reactions 

- Education materials and programs on adverse drug reactions
